After Hours - A Liminal Mall Crawler
A downloadable game
After Hours
The mall is closed. But you aren't alone.
Genre: Liminal Roguelike / Narrative Adventure
Status: In Development
The Premise
It was just an abandoned mall in a forgotten small town. A hollow monument to the past. But then your best friend went missing, leaving behind a single, frantic voicemail: she’s trapped inside, and she needs your help.
You can't leave her behind. You have to go in.
The Core Loop
Every run begins outside the mall's heavy glass doors as dusk falls. This is your moment to prepare, gather your thoughts, and steel your resolve.
Once inside, you must push as deep into the decaying, neon-lit corridors as you can. But time is against you. When the night ends, reality shifts, snapping you right back to the entrance just as evening sets once again. What changes between the cycles? And what stays behind?
Key Features
- A World Without Combat: There are no weapons here. Progression relies entirely on your wits, your willingness to listen, and your ability to navigate the quiet unknown.
- Tactile Puzzles: Interact with the environment through physical, mechanical puzzles that ground you in the space.
- Lingering Spirits: Encounter the manifestations of those who came before. Some want to help you; others are just trying to remember who they were.
- Handcrafted Art & Lore: No procedural filler. Every single pixel is hand-placed, and every line of the deeply handwritten narrative is crafted to build an intimate, haunting atmosphere.
A deep exploration of grief, love, nostalgia, and the weight of the memories we tie to the places, and people, we leave behind.
- Content Warning: Contains themes of grief, loss, and psychological tension.
